Why the street harassment is a huge problem in society?
Street harassment are unwanted comments, gestures and actions that are imposed on a stranger in a public place without their consent. Street harassment is a enormous social problem and should not be made invisible, naturalized and much less have the audacity to blame the victim that is NOT OK, it is never the victim's fault, harassment should be punished by law because it is something annoying, uncomfortable, it could even traumatize the victim, in many countries there is a serious sanction for this situation but unfortunately our country is not one of them In Quito, according to figures from the Municipality collected by the EFE agency, 68% of women have been victims of this type of gender violence that has become naturalized in society, over time it has been camouflaged as a 'compliment', many men and women still think that those words loaded with violence are 'compliments. Which is completely false, harassment is violence, it is an invasion of the privacy and comfort of the person
In Ecuador 57 out of 100 women believe that they should act and dress modestly so as not to provoke men and have to suffer harassment in the streets, harassment has been so naturalized in society that most people have the audacity to make comments such as “ It was your falt because you were wearing a short skirt ”,” then don't say anything if someone do something to you”, “why do you dress like that?”sadly this continues to exist due to people's ignorance and the disrespect of others towards the Victim, all people have the right to walk quietly through the streets without the need for someone on every corner to shout things at us or say vulgarities regarding our body and / or attitude, this must stop, people must be made aware of how disrespectful these are attitudes and thus stop the harassment that has caused so much discomfort.
I am totally agree with your text, it's never the victims fault, the person that made the crime is the one who has to have all the charges because they are the bad ones I'm the story, also I think that the government and the law have to make something to make them suffer such as the victim suffer.
ResponderBorrarI agree with the idea of this blog, I think the idea it transmits is very good, by making several people understand that these are not compliments and yes, I agree that for something like this there should be a law to be able to do justice to the people who have lived that.

ResponderBorrarI agree with you and with your blog, the street harrasment is very inconfortable and annoying, this is not a good action , is an important problem to the society sometimes the people say that is the guilt of the victim for wearing "short clothes" and stuff like this is not correct ,so why we don´t change the idea that we think? about the victim has the fault and not normalize this type of actions.
ResponderBorrarI really agree with you, harassment is what women go through in our day to day, as you say we as women are not to blame for anything, it is said that because we are a woman we cannot use dresses or skirts because we are inciting a man to attack us physically or orally, we should feel free to use clothing as we want, whether they are very short or not, why should we be afraid that something will happen to us? Why is society like that? ? Why don't we change? harassment is something that can become the most horrible act that happens to you, you feel handcuffed, weird, something that is really ugly, well let´s hope this finish. Thank you very much for your blog it is very good.
